Taylor + Katie (+ me)

Last weekend, my friend Edward reminded me of the words to what he deemed my theme song.

Bought a flowered hat

Gwyneth

Random, you think? Not exactly.

For those of you who didn't already know, my best friend Katie tied the knot to her very own adorable pervert (seriously, that was his snapchat name at one point) in Colorado on January 17th.

^^ How is it possible for two people to look this GOOD?

If I had it my way, I probably would have kept Katie single with me forever so we could commiserate, man-hate, and keep the lesbian/cat lady jokes rolling, but I guess if she HAD to get married, I'm glad it was to Taylor.

After all, what is better than friends marrying friends??
[Plus Tay's parents live 10 minutes away from my parents in California...
so basically the three of us will spend every other Christmas together, am I right??]

So I guess I will just put up with the cat lady jokes on my own from now on...
** Also you all should know that NEVER WILL I EVER be a cat lady because cats are the spawn of Satan and anyone who tells you differently probably doesn't like In-N-Out and so you know they aren't trustworthy. Should I stay single forever, I will invest in several dogs to keep me company because everyone knows they are just all around better than people anyway.

Anyway, Katie and Taylor were married in the LDS temple in Denver and held a beautiful reception in Estes Park at the Stanley Hotel.

^^ After their ceremony at the Denver temple

^^ I can't even help but smile when I look at this one.

The Stanley is famous for being the hotel that inspired The Shining.
But like, more importantly, Dumb and Dumber was filmed there.
Pretty cool eh?

^^ some of the bridesmaidzz - Jessi, me, Lauren, Lindsey

^^ I make jokes about third wheeling, but at least I'm not this girl...

^^ the two soon-to-be Gwyneths

^^ We had to

^^ the adorable pervert himself

^^ far right, above Lauren's bouquet *cue Twilight Zone music*
Clearly this place is haunted. Or the girl at the hostess stand hasn't seen the sun since 2006.

^^ One of the best things about this wedding was that the
entire bridal party was made up of some of my best pals.
So I don't even care that they photobombed us.

After lots of pictures, it was time for the reception.

And let me tell you.
This was
THE
BEST WEDDING RECEPTION
I have ever been to.

And speaking as a 23-year-old social (ehh...debateable) Mormon woman who has probably attended close to 30 receptions in my lifetime (we Mormons really just love marriage), that is saying something.

^^ wedding party snapchatzz

^^ I didn't realize until after the reception that I never even tried the cake.
I lost myself (and my dignity) on the dance floor shortly after this pic was taken.

^^ Stone cold sober wedding guests getting diggity DOWN on the dance floor.

^^ Maybe I caught the bouquet
And maybe I climbed someone for it.
And maybe it's the third one I've caught in the past year and a half.
And MAYBE the third time will be the charm.
[now's yer chance boizz]

It was the happiest of weekends and even though it made me sad to say goodbye to single Katie, it was so wonderful to see her and Tay begin their life surrounded by so many people that they (and I) love so much.

^^ I would sleep on the floor every night if it meant I could share a giant vacation condo with these guys forever. (So how bout that Costa Rica time share 2k16? eh? eh?)

In other news, to try to fill the hole in my heart after having to leave my friends, I fostered a shelter dog this weekend. Saving Grace NC started a program that allows people to foster a dog for the weekend in an effort to give the dogs a break from the shelter (and to convince big dummies like me that they can adopt a dog even though they are gone at school 50 hours a week)

^^ Meet JOEY aka the best coolest cutest cuddliest dog ever
(besides Boon of course hehe)

We had a great weekend together. But, alas, it was only a weekend and I had to return him at 4pm this afternoon. It was a little bit like dropping a child off at their first day of kindergarten. Only I will probably never see my child ever again.

Aaaaand cue the waterworks.

^^ So now here I am cleaning up Joey's old food and water bowls
aka collecting the pieces of my broken heart

Maybe I'll start looking into cats...
HAH.
