The Fourth Annual Classy Christmas Party

Way back in 2011, when my roommates and I were watching way too much Gossip Girl and aching to live on the upper east side, we had this wild idea to throw a Christmas party.

And not just any Christmas party.

We wanted to channel the Waldorfs and the Van der Woodsens.

And so the tradition of the Classy Christmas Party began.
The first year we had about 40 people.
We were young. Naive. Nearly friendless.

And now, after spending more years in Provo and knowing more people featured on the Provo all-star instagram than we would like to admit, the CCP is still going strong.
[this year we had around 200 people!!]

Special thanks to the Pitchers for letting us invade their lovely home every year!

Here are some highlights from the evening in Park City:
[thx to everyone for posting pics on fbook and insta... I stole lots of these from you so that this entire post wasn't just pictures of yours truly]

Breakups and bootycalls

Utah is like an ex boyfriend. We broke up for the same reasons lots of couples break up. We had hit a standstill and realized we weren't progressing or fulfilling each other's needs. We had drifted apart. Plus he kept leaving the toilet seat up.

And while breaking up with Utah was definitely the right thing to do, that doesn't mean I don't miss him. It also doesn't mean that I can't booty call him every once in a while...

So I decided to spend the Thanksgiving holiday in Utah.
My family just loves me so much that they decided to come too. (But srsly, Californians leaving 80 degree weather to come spend their Thanksgiving in freezing cold Utah... does love get any more real than that??)

First stop: Lavell Edwards Stadium to watch the Cougars DESTROY some no-name team. Seriously, it was so sad that my mom and I started to root for the other team.
Also, it was freezing and snowing and that is why the stands are empty. But my dad is well-known for being a not-so-fair-weather fan, so we stuck it out just for him...until halftime haha.

Californians in the cold -- my mom is literally wearing the jacket my brother took to science camp in the mountains in 4th grade because she didn't have any jacket that would work in the snow.

She had on a green and black scarf, brown leather gloves, and this bright blue jacket meant for an eleven year old boy (but really, look at how small that hood is). She is typically a fashionable lady but she does NOT like to be cold.

The real reason I dragged my family to Utah for Thanksgiving though, was because I missed my friends. Lots of them are still in school at BYU or working in Provo and I just have FOMO all the time.

So naturally, every time we get back together I'm the annoying girl that insists on taking a group pic.
Wutvr, deal with it.

Obviously Lauren is my other half.

Like, how do people even put up with us?

 But really.

Naturally we found this pic of a hot guy and had to take pics with him. Lauren is snarling as per usual.

And then who even knows what happened.

And again, Lauren is the only one who laughs at my jokes.

While in Provo, we threw a wild bachelorette party (well, about as wild as a bunch of Mormon girls in their early 20's can get) for my friend Katie, who is getting married next month.

Obvi, we HAD to make it Twilight themed just to be extra annoying.

(Face in Hole is the best thing ever invented)

And obvi, we HAD to go pole dancing.

Guys, pole dancing is so cool. It's so sexy and fun but also SO hard. I really want to get good at it.
While we're on the topic, if you haven't seen this, then go watch. You're welcome.

Thanksgiving day was spent with my family.

^^ Obviously these pics were NOT taken in Utah. But we didn't get a full family picture while everyone was here, so these pics taken by @lolonienie in San Clemente over the summer will have to do.

I had always had my suspicions, but over Thanksgiving my brother, Kellen, admitted he is a lumbersexual.
[To be fair, he has been dressing like this for years. He's a trendsetter not a trendfollower]

I also got to hang out with this lil guy.
Yes I have a chihuahua. Deal with it.
And just try to look at that face and tell me he's not cute.

^^ This was the view from the yard of the house my parents rented. I mean, COME ON.
How could you NOT booty call something that looks that good??
