St. George 2014

What do all the single people do on Valentine's Day?

Gather together with some people you love (but not people with whom you are IN love...lolz) and get the heck out of the cold weather.

California, Vegas, and southern Utah are usually my go-tos and this year, we decided southern Utah would be best because it is so close.

This weekend is best told in pics (actually, vids-- if you are short on time, you can skip to the last line of this post).

This was the sunset when we got there. Obviously this trip was going to be splendid.

Friday night we played murder in the dark (yes we are young adults in our early to mid 20s and we still love this game). Then we headed for bed so we could be up early to go to the St. George temple.

Saturday morning, Andrew and I squeezed in an early morning run. We were supposed to go about 9 miles, and we did (right, Andrew??)

Friends who run together (and whose parents are BFFs), stay together.

Glamour shots outside the St. George Temple:

Then we split up and had girl time and guy time. The boyz went golfing (blah) and the girls got pedicures (<3).

Saturday night, we made the best decision of our young lives: karaoke in Hurricane (pronounced HURR-uh-kin), Utah.

There were literally 15 people there (including us), and we left quite an impression on the regulars at the karaoke bar. There was Kathy, the heavy-set woman who actually was GOOD at karaoke. I didn't realize anybody could be good at karaoke. I mean, take a person with a really good voice and I can guarantee you they will be BAD at karaoke.

Then there was another woman who, we were told by Kathy, compared herself to Celine Dion. She was completely tone deaf and literally sang the same note the entire song. We were told (again, by Kathy) not to encourage her, but of course we were loving it and cheered loudly throughout her performance.

Then there was Jackie, a blonde girl with the largest, bounciest boobs I have ever seen, who kept coming up to us and saying "You California kids are f****** awesome! You actually f******* dance! I can't ever get anybody else to f****** dance with me! You guys gotta come back every f****** week!"

We had some really good heart-to-heart moments with Jackie that night. Like, she really connected with us I think.

Sunday was by far the nicest day of the trip weather-wise. We spent the morning at church, then headed outside for some croquet, acrobatics, and sun.

Then it was nap time.

And this happened:

Next up: CRAFTERNOON!!

We bought plates that we could draw on, and then took turns each drawing a part of each person's face on his or her plate. Zach's little brother, Mason, was included in this, so it made things extra interesting.

Here are the finished products:

Last activity for Sunday night: iPod dance party (more commonly known amongst BYU students as an "IDP") ON A FREAKING MOUNTAIN.

For those of you who don't know, an IDP works like this: Somebody creates a playlist, then puts in on the internet for everyone who will be attending the IDP to download. Then everyone meets up in a designated place, and on the count of three, you start the music at the same time. The IDP is for those who love to dance, but don't love to have to feel like they need to interact with those around them while dancing.
BYU students love to dance.
No, I am no longer a BYU student, but I still love to dance.

Then we took Prom 2014 pics on the mountain:

And Aud and I had matching V necks and flannels.

On Monday, we headed to Snow Canyon for some hiking and cave exploring.

Awkward love triangles were captured forever.

The Tebow.

The Tebow plus a cute boy named Zach.

The gurlz

Yoga poses

Nailed it.

I think I'll just stick with child's pose.

I believe that the heart does go on.

The circle of life

And this sequence that (since we were on the top of a VERY TALL rock) gave me a heart attack:

Boys will be boys, I guess.

I like to dance for the camera:

And finally, Urban Outfitters models hit the desert to promote their new line of hiking clothes:

So much luv in one picture.

And to better sum up the trip, here is a lovely video put together by yours truly.

Peace and blessings, XOXO.
